ABOUT THE SHOW: The ultimate show-biz musical, 42ND STREET is a celebration of Broadway, Times Square, and all the men & women who make the magic of musical theatre. Aspiring chorus girl Peggy Sawyer comes to the big city from Allentown PA, and soon lands her first big job in the ensemble of a glitzy new Broadway show. But just before opening night, the leading lady breaks her ankle. Will Peggy be able to step in and become a star?

The score is chock-full of Broadway standards, including “Go Into Your Dance,” “We’re In the Money,” “Lullaby of Broadway,” “Shuffle Off to Buffalo” and “Forty-Second Street.”

During recent remodeling at Liberty Theater, we discovered a 42nd Street movie poster from the original run in the 1930s!

Auditions for parts in the musical will be the first day of camp. Auditions are meant to be a learning process in a relaxed setting and allows the Directors to note voice range & ability.
Prepare a one minute song to be sung A Capella. Voice audition is not required unless you want a lead part.
All actors will read a small portion of the script as part of the audition. Assistance is provided for young readers. Please send camper with a packed lunch, snack and water bottle each day.

Each camper is expected to arrive daily ready to listen, participate and have fun.

Camp will conclude with two performances of the show 42nd Street, Young Performers Edition. Performance tickets will be $8. Each camper will receive two complimentary tickets with registration. Plan to invite family and friends to attend performances as it is the highlight of camp!

Adult volunteers are always needed and appreciated, let us know if you are available to help during dress rehearsal and/or performances. :)
