I have enjoyed this plan because it covers a daily portion of the Old Testament and the New Testament each day. At the beginning of each day, Nicky & Pippa Gumbel give a brief devotional that set up the background for each reading. Most of the readings take only about 15 minutes to complete. This will be my 3rd year to use this Bible reading plan.
This devotional directs our hearts back to the simplicity and deep impact of the Gospel.
Amy and I like the OWNit 365 One Story Plan found in the YouVersion app. This plan takes you through key stories in the Bible and helps us to understand that all of the stories of the Bible actually make up one story, God’s story, and reveal His redemptive plan. We love reading to our kids from the Beginner Bible.
I’m in the car at least an hour everyday & wanted to better utilize that time this year. This Audible book puts the Bible in chronological order [each day takes about 30-40 minutes].
This is an amazing reading plan for anyone that is looking to read and understand God’s word in a new and fresh way. Interesting videos give background to the books of the Bible, helping the reader better understand the overarching message of each book.
YouVersion App & Jesus Story Book Bible
I like the You Version App. There are many good options. Pick a plan that works for you and keep at it! I also love the Jesus Story Book Bible for kids. I think every Christian home with children should have one!
I will typically choose a book of the Bible to read and study as my reading material. I choose to read a chunk and then read
commentaries to help me gain insight and understanding as to what God is saying in that text. I typically like commentaries by David Guzik.
This plan features four different readings for use in both family and personal devotions. Each day has two passages from the Old
Testament, one from the New Testament, and one from either the Psalms or the Gospels. In one year, you read the Old Testament once and the New Testament and Psalms twice.
365 Devotions for finding unwavering strength in God’s Word.
Everything in our world that can be shaken will be shaken. And yet the Bible assures us that it doesn’t matter what happens politically, morally, socially, or economically in the world around us if we have Christ in us – if we have the kingdom of God within us – because His kingdom is unshakable.
Julie and I have enjoyed this devotional. It is brief but very inspirational and has scripture references to complement the devotional thought. It starts our day with a sense of God's plans for our lives.
I really enjoy the structure that these reading plans and devotional apps provide. They make daily Bible reading very attainable.
