School of the Arts / FALL 2018
School of the Arts is focused on developing well rounded actors by offering opportunities for youth to develop their acting, singing and movement skills through classes, workshops and productions.
This Fall we will be offering a 10 week session of classes and an end of session Showcase. Classes start Sept 13, 2018. The Showcase for friends and family will be in November. Students will receive training from qualified instructors in a small group setting. Discounts for multiple family members.
(All classes located in Bethel Downtown Centralia, 413 N Tower Ave)
Students are expected to come ready to listen, participate and have fun!
ACTING Classes for Kids
(4th grade – 8th grade)
Thursdays Sept 13 – Nov 15
4p - 6p
Kid Actors will receive instruction in Acting, Singing AND Movement/Dance in small groups during their weekly class time. Kids Actors will share what they have learned at our November Showcase.
Full Payment is expected by first class. **Discounts offered for additional family members. Cash, Check or Credit Card payments are accepted.
ACTING Classes for Teens
(8th grade – High School)
Thursdays Sept 13 – Nov 15
6p - 8p (two one-hour classes)
Teen Actors will choose two from the following options for their weekly class time.* Teen Actors will share what they have learned at our November Showcase.
Note: Some classes will have assignments and require time outside of class. One must practice their “instrument” to progress.
Full Payment is expected by first class. **Discounts offered for additional family members. Cash, Check or Credit Card payments are accepted. Ask a sibling or friend to join you at School of the Arts!
Teens select two from the following options:
Stage Combat in Shakespeare (Seth & Yvonne MacNeely)
More stage combat techniques using both the body and weapons. We will integrate acting with stage combat in some of the most famous of Shakespeare's fights! Scenes will be performed in the Fall showcase. Good acting and safety will be our priority!
VOICE (Erin Anderson)
Voice 1 / Singers with little to no training but a desire to develop their voice in a small group setting.
Voice 2 / Experienced singers and soloists will continue to work on their voice, singing as a group and individually.
Beginning Dance for the Actor (Erica Dyeson)
Students will learn basic dance steps used in Musical Theater, develop their stage presence and how to move their body to be a better actor. There are always more opportunities for actors who can move!
*Classes may be added or dropped based on enrollment.
**Discounts for multiple family members: First child is full price ($120), second child is $100, third & forth child are $95 each. Discount options available in online registration form.
