Nursery

Nursery

Your child is very important to us, and so we endeavor to provide the very finest care possible. It's important for the church to work together with parents to build young lives that are physically, emotionally, and spiritually healthy. So, be at ease and your child is in good hands!

This information is offered to assist you and us in providing quality care for our nursery age children. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us. Our staff is trained to provide an atmosphere of special care and attention for each child that will reflect Jesus' love.

Special Information:

HOURS

The Bethel Church Nursery is open 15 minute prior to scheduled services until 15 minutes following the conclusion of service.

AGE LIMITS
The age for nursery care is birth to three years.

CHECK - IN

  • Please sign your child in each time you leave them in the nursery on the attendance sheet provided at the nursery check - in counter. When checking in your child you will receive a pager. Please present this pager to the attendant when checking your child out. Your child will not be given to anyone without this pager, including relatives.
  • If your child needs you in extreme circumstances, you will be paged so that you can come to the nursery. Please wear the pager on your person as it will vibrate when activated.

LEAVING YOUR CHILD

  • Leave your child with a Nursery Staff member at the check - in counter.
  • It seems to help children at this age if you leave quickly, and do not return until you are ready to pick them up.
  • If your child cries when left with us, don't be concerned, it's only a normal response of preference for the parent. This fussing generally stops within a few moments.
  • There is a window to the left of the Nursery entrance providing you a view of the Nursery.

DIAPER BAG

Please include in your diaper bag ...

  • A complete change of clothes (accidents do happen!)
  • Labeled bottles (please label your bottle), and any other items your child may need.
  • For your convenience, lost and found items will be kept for one month.
  • We are aware that some babies use cloth diapers, and are happy to accommodate this if the diapers and plastic pants are brought with your child. However, we do provide disposable diapers in our nursery to expedite diaper changing during nursery hours.
  • Please let the attendant know if your child is allergic to disposable diapers, or has any other special needs.
  • Also it would be helpful to know if your child has diaper rash.
  • It is very important to notify nursery personnel when your child has recently received shots.

FEEDING

  • We provide crackers for those children who are able to handle this type of snack.
  • If you are a nursing mother please feel free to nurse your child in
the "Mother's Room." Ask the Welcome Center or Nursery Staff member to assist you in finding the Mother's Room.

ILLNESS

  • We cannot accept a child who is ill.
  • Please let the nursery attendant know if your child has been exposed to the chicken pox or has developed a contagious infection such as strep, staff or conjunctivitis (pink eye).
  • If medication is required the parent must administer it.
  • Our nursery is kept very sanitary. Sheets are changed for each child, and toys are disinfected regularly.
  • We are very careful to see that everything possible is done to prevent any spreading of sickness.

CHECK - OUT

When picking up your child, please present the pager you were given at check - in. Your child will not be given to anyone without that pager, including relatives. Since we personally handed you your child's pager, the return of that pager with someone else insures us that you have consented to their responsibility for your child. We do prefer however, that you, the parent, pick - up your own children. Your child's safety is our top priority.

CAN PARENTS BE IN THE NURSERY?

If this is your first time visiting our Nursery we invite you to come in with your child and help them get settled. We discourage parents being in the Nursery for security and cleanliness reasons. Should you be called to the Nursery by the pager system you are welcome to use the Mother's Room.

BABY DEDICATION

Here at Bethel Church we highly value the Biblical teaching of dedicating children to the Lord. We would encourage you to pursue the beautiful and memorable experience of dedication for your child, as you invite the Lord's help in rearing your children. Applications are available at the Welcome Center in the foyer.

PROMOTION

Children are promoted at the nearest quarter date to their Birthday. Quarter dates are the first Sunday in March, June, September and December. When children turn two and four years of age they may be promoted. Please see Pastor Jeremy if you have questions.
